Homosexuality today is becoming an ever growing problem in American Society. I believe that the Orthodox Church had a strong opinion about homosexuality before there was such an uproar of homosexual rights in America and changed their ideas to suit others. It says in the Bible specifically "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed." Genesis 2:24-25. This verse shows that God only intended that a Man and a Woman are allowed to be both naked together and not be ashamed (only after marriage). I believe that homosexuality is a sin and wrong, we are living in a post World War II era that's main mentality is do not offend others for their faith and beliefs.

The world today has become way too lenient on anything that is considered a religion, belief or lifestyle. American society has pushed religions that had blatant oppositions of homosexuality into accommodating it into their beliefs to please both parties. After the lecture in class about homosexuality Karim and I were discussing what had happened in class and got into a heated discussion about how we did not believe what you were telling us. No one told us whether homosexuality was wrong or right, it was just known it's a sin and that anyone who decides to fall into this temptation is eternally damned to hell. Homosexuality is not a sin that can be confessed and be forgiven easily; it's a lifestyle that someone chooses to live. Homosexuality is a decision not a disease. Slowly today we are giving sins titles of diseases to accept them more and allow more gateway to sin. Homosexuality is exactly like Alcoholism, someone chose to start drinking. A disease has no physical choices involved in the equation; you can not call something you chose to do a disease. I have no idea how homosexuality started but I know its wrong, wrong in the way of incompatible. In computers you have a male and female port, you can not make any object function with two male or two female ports; you must put a male into a female in order for something to function.

In the Bible it says, "So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth." Genesis 1:27-28. This versus clearly says "Be fruitful and multiply...", the main function of sexual relations is to multiply, the pleasure that comes from it is a gift that God has given us. God had no intention for man to manipulate another man's body in such a way, it is even proven that repeated anal sex destroys and shifts organs around the body. The anal cavity is only designed for expelling not receiving. The Bible straight out says, "If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them." Leviticus 20:13. Now how in the world after reading this versus can we even think that homosexuality is anyway acceptable? From what we learned in class, the Orthodox Church says that being a homosexual is ok as long as you do not do homosexual deeds.
