The Industrial Revolution marked a major turning point in world history. Almost every aspect of daily life was influenced in some way. The Industrial Revolution brought many new inventions and new changes. The development of machinery led to a need for workers to operate the machinery. Work went from being rural to a greater need for urban workers in factories. The need for more workers led to urbanization as people moved from farms and outside communities in order to live near the factories. Cities developed with large populations. Immigration laws increased quotas of immigrants allowed into America as people were needed to work in the factories. This allowed for immigrants to come pursue their American Dream. Immigration is still occurring today which has helped companies flourish by paying immigrants low wages. The labor force included men, women, and children. There was a new method used of producing products called mass production. This was the production of large amounts of products. This method is still currently being used. Also the use of the Factory System allowed for mass production of textiles and other goods. This shifted people from production at home with the Put Out System, to production in large factories in cities. Mass production also allowed for lower prices on the good produced. The Industrial Revolution was a major turning point in world history as it resulted in a complete change in society on all levels. These people made their own immigration areas based on their race and allowed the nation to be more diverse. The use of energy was changed as it switched from animal power, to water power and then to steam power in a few short years. The effects of the Industrial Revolutions were long reaching, and influenced many other cultures in positive ways.

There were many new inventions and means of transportation built during this period. The steam engine was the power source of the Industrial Revolution. As the country now known as America was flourishing people had the capital needed to build railroads, factories, and mines. The railroads, mines and factories created thousands of jobs which many immigrants occupied. This attracted people all over the world to come to this nation.
