Accenture is a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company with over 129,000 employees in 48 countries with over $15.5 billion in net revenues in 2005. Accenture was formerly know as Arthur Anderson and started conducting business under the name Accenture on January 1, 2001. Accenture is a Bermuda holding company with subsidiary, Accenture SCA, a Luxemburg partnership limited by shares. The Comp SCA. Accenture operates its business through subsidiaries of Accenture SCA (www.bigcharts.com).

Committed to delivering innovation, Accenture collaborates with its clients to help them become high-performance businesses and governments. With deep industry and business process expertise, broad global resources and a proven track record, Accenture can mobilize the right people, skills and technologies to help clients improve their performance. The company's business is structured around five operating groups, which together comprise 18 industry groups serving clients in every major industry. The operating groups are Communications & High Tech, Financial Services, Government, Products, and Resources.

Background

Accenture's mantra is High Performance Delivered, meaning that our clients receive superior results; one of the main reasons Accenture has been successful is by having quality employees. Currently Accenture does not have a formal training program for its employees and sub- contractors. What I would like to be implemented at Accenture is a web-based training program on the company's internal portal (Website) for new employees and sub-contractors, where business etiquette is addressed (e.g. dress, groom, communication, etc.) Ethics, training on computer programs/languages, company policies, career counseling, and how to behave in the workplace.

Also I would like to implement audio/video capabilities to Accenture's existing internet infrastructure; this will add a very important vital component for prospective clients, employees/sub-contractors more aware of the company's functions and services. In today's global marketplace or world, people comprehend more efficiently by seeing visuals or hearing audio live.

Solution Design & Development

Databases

The use case for the web-based training program will be to store the training programs that will be viewed by employees and sub-contractors.

The use case for enhancing Accenture's existing internet infrastructure, by adding audio/video capabilities would employ a database that will store audio recordings, virtual images, videos, and images.

Programming

The use case for the web-based training program will require software that will require software. That will enhance minimize and problems that the trainee may encounter. The software will also require if the trainee has any questions or feedback; the software will initialize and respond to the questions.

The use case for enhancing Accenture's existing internet infrastructure, by adding audio/video capabilities to the company's website, will require software. That a programmer to implement and modify the audio/video capabilities into Accenture's website.

Networks

The use case for the web-based program will be an intranet network, on the internal portal that is used at Accenture.

The use case for enhancing Accenture's audio/video capabilities on Accenture's website will feature the new capabilities through the World Wide Web.

How use cases aid in the systems analysis and design

The use case for the web-based training program provides a detailed concise process that illustrates from start to finish, also laying the foundation, for the plan to be implemented.

The use case for the enhancing Accenture's website by adding audio/video capabilities provides the clients/visitors to view the webpage.

How internal and external stakeholders will be affected by the new solutions

Internal- Accenture's employee's/sub-contractor's, after completing the web-based training program. The results of the program will be measured by how employees perform in their duties, and only time will tell if the program is a success.

External- The training program could lose the support of management, if the program does not show any tangible results. The programs funding could be stopped, or the budget will be cut. However if the program is a success, leadership will be pleased, and could allocate more resources to the training program.

Business and Security Risk Assessment

The business risks for this project could be wasting money on programs that are not very effective, in enhancing employee performance, or attracting new business from the website, with its new audio/video capabilities. To mitigate the project from failing and wasting money, there should be constant oversight and evaluations of the program and rectifying mistakes that occur during the project (e.g. technical, manpower, and etc.).

The security risks for the project are hackers breaking into Accenture's system, and disrupting its network, by viruses that will cause major problems throughout the company. Also if laptops are stolen that have the company's important information
