4Romeo- Romeo is the most famous Montague there is. At first he loves Rosaline, but later falls in love with Juliet. Romeo is very fickle when it comes to love and falls quickly in and out of it.

Juliet- Juliet is a Capulet and the love of Romeo. She is also the love interest of Paris but despises him very much. Juliet much like Romeo is very fickle when it comes to emotions.

Friar Laurence- The Friar is a friend of Romeo. Friar Laurence is the guy Romeo comes to when he has a problem. He is also a very intelligent botanist who is very passionate about his work.

Mercutio- Mercutio is possibly Romeos friend because he is nearly always there for him. Mercutio is very passionate and is almost always fighting. Mercutio is also very defensive over his friends especially Romeo.

Prince Escalus- Prince Escalus is the prince of Verona. He is constantly trying to keep his subjects in line. His first speech

in the play makes it clear that he is the boss.

Tybalt- Tybalt is a member of the Capulet family. He has a very hot temper and especially hates the Montagues. He is angered when he learns that Romeo showed up at the Capulet feast.

Benvolio- Benvolio is a member of the Montague family and he is also Romeo's best friend. He tries to help Romeo get over his love with Rosaline by taking him to the Capulet party to see other hot women.

5Verona is the main setting of this play. It is situated in Italy and is controlled by Prince Escalus. This setting contains many smaller settings including both family's houses , Verona's streets, and the Capulet's tomb.

Mantua is a lesser setting in the play. It is where Romeo is banished to when he kills Tybalt. It is also the place where Juliet plans to flee to live with Romeo. This is the worst place for Romeo because he cannot be with Juliet there.

6 Act 1- Act 1 starts with a prologue that tells us what is to happen in this play. The first scenes takes place in the streets of Verona where servants of the two households break into fighting and warned by the prince that if it happened again death would come to both houses. In Scene 2 both parties agree not to fight and we learn that Paris wishes to marry Juliet but her father thinks she is to young. In Scene 3 we learn of Juliet's nurse and her daughter Susan who shared a birth day with Juliet but died. In Scene 4 the Montague boy decide to head over to the Capulet party. This is where Mercutio gives his famous Queen Mab speech. Scene 5 is at the capulets party. Here Romeo and Juliet fall in love.

Act 2- In Scene 1 Romeo ditches his friends and is made fun of for leaving. Scene 2 consists of Romeo finding himself in Capulet's orchard and comparing Juliet to the sun, a light in his nighttime world. In Scene 4 Romeo and the nurse make plans for Juliet and Romeo consisting of a visit to Friar Laurence and a rope ladder .Scene 5 consists of Juliet telling Peter to send Romeo a letter and the nurse talking to Juliet about the wedding night. Un the final seen of this act, Romeo and Juliet speak of their love and are warned by the Friar that he thinks this wedding ill-advised. They go ahead with the wedding anyways.

Act 3- Scene 1 contains the murder of both Mercutio and Tybalt. In this scene Romeo is also so banished to Mantua. In Scene 2 Juliet learns of what has happened and is first mad at Romeo but then sad she might not ever see him again. In Scene 3 Romeo is hiding in Friar Laurence's place and finds out of his punishment. He is very angry because he thinks banishment is worse than death. In Scene 4 Paris discusses the wedding of him and Juliet with the Capulets. In Scene 5 Romeo and Juliet have their wedding night and Juliet also learns of her proposed wedding to Paris. She does not want to marry Paris and this results in a fight between her and her father.

Act 4- In Scene 1 Juliet is given a potion to make her seem dead by the Friar. In Scene 2 Juliet returns to the house and says she will marry Paris. In Scene 3 Juliet drinks the potion and falls into a deep sleep. In Scene 4 they find Juliet "dead" in her bed. In Scene 5 the family finds Juliet's body in her bed and are horrified by her sudden death.

Act 5- In Scene 1 Romeo learns of Juliet's death without knowing the plan. He goes to an apothecary to get poison to kill himself. In Scene 2 Friar Laurence learns that Romeo has not been warned of the plan and decides to go hide in Juliet's cell for him. In Scene 3 Romeo kills Paris, then he kills himself, Then Juliet wakes finds Romeo dead and kills herself.

This play is about Romeo and Juliet, two "star-crossed lovers" (Prologue 6). Romeo is a member of the Montague family and is currently in love with Roseline. Juliet on the other end is a Capulet and the love interest of Paris, a rich man. Romeo and Juliet meet at a party of the Capulet's. Romeo enters the party in disguise because he is an enemy of the Capulets. Tybalt easily recognizes Romeo and challenges him to a duel. This does not happen because Lord Capulet tells Tybalt that Romeo is a good kid and is just looking for some fun.. Romeo and Juliet kiss and meet in the orchard later that night where they agree to get married. Shortly later the next day the Friar marries them but thinks it ill advised because they just recently met. That same day Mercutio get in a fight with Tybalt. Mercutio is killed and Romeo avenges his death by killing Tybalt Romeo did not wish to fight Tybalt because they were family but does any way. Romeo is then banished to Mantua. Juliet is supposed to marry the County Paris, so she goes to the friar in hopes that he can counsel her. The Friar devises a plan to use his great botany skill to make a potion that makes Juliet look like she's dead. She takes the potion and is placed inside the Capulet's tomb. The only problem is that Romeo is not told of this plan and thinks she is dead. He decides that he will kill himself since he will never be happy. On his way into the tomb, Paris sees him and tries to arrest him. Paris does not know what Romeo is trying to do and thinks he is there to disgrace the bodies. They break into a fight and Paris is killed. Romeo then enters the tomb and drinks the potion on Juliet's deathbed. He dies and Juliet awakes. She then kills herself with Romeo's knife. The families
