5.2 Organising

In an organisation, organising is part of a developed work plan that involves organising people and the other resources that is needed to carry out the plan.

As managers are responsible for the day-to-day operations of each Starbucks stores, it gives managers the authority to direct and organise its employees (barista) on how work have to be carried out accordingly. Such works which are like one who operates the cash machine, one who works on the coffee machine and others. As a result, it also let the employees feel a sense of responsibility in the work task given.

5.3 Leading

To be able lead and motivate the people in the organization, managers must first uphold a strong influencing power that he/she is responsible for the specific task to help achieve the organization common goal (Schultz, 1997).

For example, Starbucks who have had so many stores being set up internationally, it is important for them to imply a tactical plan to help maintain and motivate their employees to achieve common goals. Through that, employees will be able to understand that their role also plays an important part in contributing to the organisation.

5.4 Controlling

In various organisations, controlling process is considered a set of important assumptions to the company. It helps to examine and gauge the progress of the plans made before, ensuring that things are goes as planned.

Having to adopt a strong culture, it makes everyone think of the same goal that is set to achieve. In Starbucks, controlling is evaluated in the contextual of cultural responsibility and social growth. With a certain control that is being enforced, it helps employees to establish and maintain the culture of the company. Such cultures are like employee behaviours and attitudes. Thus, cultural controls can help build and maintain the attributes of the company.
