English assignment#3

Mary's stealing persisted. I decided not to talk to my mother about it because it hadn't gotten out of hand yet. Mary would only take twenty to fifty cents about once a week. For some reason, after watching my sister continuously take money, I decided I might as well give it a try.

Soon my craving for money was going wild. I started to take larger bills sometimes even 5-dollar bills, if my mom had them on her. I had no reason to take money or to even spend it, but for some reason it was just one of those things that was nice to have in your possession. Soon I started to buy large things like: TV's VCRs even radios. At one point I had over 5 TV's in my room.

I finally realized that taking money was no longer just for fun. It had grown into an addiction. An addiction that was as bad as any other like gambling or smoking. I knew I needed help The first idea into my head was to talk to my mother.

One afternoon when my mom arrived home from work, I confronted her and told her everything about what had happened. The weird part was that she wasn't mad, just disappointed. In a weird sense her disappointment in me hurt more than If she was just really mad.

We came to the conclusion that I was going to have to receive help because my money theft was an addiction and we didn't want it to grow any worst that it already was. I also had to return everything that I had bought and give the money back to my mother.

Soon things were back to normal. I had found a job and no longer needed to take money from my mother or anyone else.
