How Technology changed in the last 30 years

How was technology in general different then, compared to now?

"There wasn't much, or I should say it was not as advanced"

What kind of phones did you use, or how is it different?

"We had house phones but they were rotary type phones." "If we were out of the house and needed to make a call we used payphones."

Did you use or have computers back then?

"I believe that there were computers but not personal computers"

So you couldn't email anyone if you needed to?

"I didn't know what an email was!" "If you wanted to contact someone you wrote a letter."

Since there wasn't any personal computers, how did you look up information or random facts?

"If we didn't learn it in school, and we really wanted to know we would go to the library."

Was there any types of gaming? Any video games?

"There was some arcade games, but I didn't play them."

How was television any different than it is now?

"It was very different." "We were very limited on what you could watch, we only had a few different channels, and the television its self was completely different. We had a floor TV. or a box TV. now there all HD and flat screens."

How was listing to music any different than now?

"It wasn't, we used our ears!"(ha-ha) "Today everyone has music downloaded to there phone or has an I-pod. I had an eight-track and a record player."

As far as any household items, has technology changed in any way?

"Yes, it seems that everyone has a microwave, and its really common for people to have dishwashers. 30 some odd years ago we cooked from scratch and cleaned up but hand."

Do you think that technology is bettering peoples lives?

"Yes
