2.0 INTRODUCTION

One of the requirement needed for the course ENT 530 is to conduct a case study. To fulfill the task of the case study, we had done our visit to a company. The company is Nine Over Ten Dot Biz. The company is carrying out business of printing, designing and advertising custom made products and merchandise. The purpose of the case study is to study about the business organization, the background of the company, the business that the company carries out, the strategies used to carry out the business and the problems that the company faced. To get the required information, we had interviewed the designer manager and a few staffs at the company.

Basically, we can say that this company sells product and service. The products include customs product such as corporate shirt, t shirt, banner, bunting, signboards, billboards, L.E.D board, backdrops, flyers, invitation cards, ID cards, brochures, envelopes, letter heads, business cards, calendars and rubber stamps. While in the service part, this company carry out service to design the products and the logo. For the production of the product, it will be assigned to the list of factories that the company had chosen. It means, every type of product have their own factory located in Kuala Lumpur (the company does not give the exact location of the factory). This company act as the agent for all the factories. They do not have their own product. In fact, they just get the orders, do marketing duties and make design of the product before assigning the production tasks to the factories.

Based on our observation, the company busy with their customers as the customers keep on coming while we are interviewing them. Their customers are consist of the corporate bodies, government agencies and some schools. With the variety products sold, they have bigger market and high demand as the product they produce have seasonal demand. However, the company had facing certain problems such as delay in production and the quality are not as what customer expect. In terms of technologies of production, they do not have any problem as the company just act as the agent for the factories.


3.0 COMPANY INFORMATION

The Nine Over Ten Dot Biz was initiated by the founder, Mrs Rodhiah Bt Kassim. Nine Over Ten Dot Biz is a printing and advertising company which started its operation since 24 June 2011 at Lot FF 21, Level 1, Angsana Seremban Mall, Jalan Kuala Pilah, 70400 Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. After few years operated in Kuala Pilah, they took decision to move their office to other place where it is more strategic and more significant to be approached by publics. In 2014, Nine Over Ten Dot Biz is located at No, 21 Jalan Dataran Kemuning 3, Dataran Kemuning, Senawang, 70450 Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. Nine Over Ten Dot Biz was preferred to be open on that address is because they are targeting the people who lived around Senawang since there are many residential areas and near to town. So, customers who want to deal with Nine Over Ten Dot Biz can come to the location easily. Since the location can easily be found in Senawang. Plus, there are a lot of car parks around the location. This make it much easier for customers to come even on peak hours every day.

 The name of the company was an idea from an Islamic philosophy where it states that “In fact, 9/10 of livelihoods come from business sources”. From that philosophy, they created their company name with Nine Over Ten Dot Biz. The motto of the company is "More Focused, Cost Efficient and Barakah". They are focusing on the marketing to achieve the best goals they set up and at the same time minimizing the cost of production. It takes the opportunity to become entrepreneurs to widen business networking and foster entrepreneurship spirits among society. Now, the company is gaining further steps as it promise the best services and serve to its customers through its strategic, systematic and rewarding concepts. Plus they also focusing on mutual engagement with Muslim entrepreneurs towards improving Islamic economy and business management. In addition, this can also strengthen the unity of the Muslim brotherhood that has been established. Nine Over Ten Dot Biz also will give the best and various ideal choice for their customers and promise the best services for them.

3.3        Product and Services

This company have provided many types of services. For example, in term of rebranding and packaging, design and printing, apparel designing, publishing and also premium gift. In term of rebranding and packaging, Nine Over Ten Dot Biz provide logo designing, packaging design, and website based on the demands of the customer. This company have ability in designing exclusive design for many purposes such as government occasion backdrop, bags, plaque and others. Generally, customer do have choices if they want use their own design or they can propose new design from the designer to be attached onto their products. Thus, customers need to pay for the products and the services for making design and logo for them. They also can do labeling and packaging, and plus they also use shop and kiosk concept as to maintain their stability of the company.

The other service provided by this company is designing and printing. This company can design and print onto any kind of materials and finishing output such as banner, roll up, pop up, bunting, signboards, signage, billboards, boards/L.E.D, backdrops, flyers, invitation cards, ID cards, brochures, envelopes, letter heads, business cards, calendars and rubber stamps. Those product will be charged differently based on criteria like, materials, sizes and quantities. This finishing output can be classified as promotional materials as to attract customers’ attention to have their services.
