The Gift of the Magi

Hi, everyone. My name is xxx. Today I would like to talk about The Gift of the Magi.

In my opinion, I don’t agree that Della and Jim made such sacrifices because of they were not confident of their love for each other. From my perspective, although Della and Jim is a poor couple but they willing to sacrifice their most valuable thing just to give the best present to their love one so that each of them have a memorable Christmas Eve. It is that love, which motivates them to give up the only things of monetary value they have to buy presents for each other.

In my opinion, I think the concept of “giving without sacrifice” can be achieved in a relationship. This is because we actually don’t need to sacrifice the important thing in our life in order to make our love one happy. In reality, we are not required to give expensive present like Pandora, Prada bag or New Balance shoes to show our love to someone. Instead of giving with sacrifice, why don’t we try to giving without sacrifice? We may give our caring to our love one. For example, when the person we love fall sick, we may fetch her/him to see doctor and take good care of them. Besides, we can also cook for her/him favourite dinner. Try to be as encouraging and supportive as possible towards the one you love. This means that you should encourage her/him goals and dreams, and not dismiss them or laugh them off as being silly or unrealistic. Make time for your love one when she/he needs you. Not only that, we may also comfort our love one when he/she fell upset because of face failure in studying or working. Or even we can just company him/her when they feel sad. Those giving don’t need to sacrifice any money, but able to cheer our love one.
