The five dysfunctions of a team are absence of trust, fear of conflict, lack of communication, avoidance of accountability, and inattention to results. Starting with absence of trust, if you don't really know a person, how can we trust them? That is where we come in; we have to get to know our team mates. When we know our team mates personality, then are we able to trust them. Next is fear of conflict. If we are the type that can't take criticism or difference of opinion; then that is what we call fear of conflict. We have to encourage our team members not to be offended by other opinions and differences. We have to learn to take criticism and discuss our views and points on a subject. Then we have lack of communication. If we don't communicate have can we be a team? We have to be on one accord with one another and be decisive. We have to plan and be committed to our decisions. Avoidance of accountability is another problem we have in a team. We have to take responsibility for our efforts and hold ourselves accountable for our actions. Last but not least we have inattention to results. We have to be grateful for our efforts. We have to be grateful for others. As a team, we have to be focused on our team's efforts and our own performance. If we are a team we have to be on one accord, trust one another, and be accountable for our actions.
