The Brady Training Program

1.) Bill's behavior during his participation in the Brady Training Program was competitive in nature, but unethical according to company policies and procedures. Bill came into the program with a high degree of self efficacy. He had no experience with computer information systems but he was still determined to meet all challenges in the training program.

Bill was motivated to succeed. He had the capacity, the opportunity, and the willingness to perform at a high level.

Bills behavior during the training program was unlike him. He was told during orientation that trainees were not allowed to help each other. He proceeded to form a secret study group. This can be referred to from Maslow's Need Hierarchy theory as the need for safety and security. He felt threatened that he wouldn't be able to complete the first project and would be terminated from the program. He got help from Harry. He then came across Chris and Harold with a listing of project assignments completed by members of the previous class; he had them make him a copy. He feels that by taking the computer manufacturing position all aspects of the industry would be available to him in one location. Bill is young and it's clear that he wants more experience in the workforce before he gets settled into a position.

Pros Bill is only 25 yrs. old after completion of the Brady Training Program. Taking the computer manufacturing job could help him become more rounded. The program is noted for having a high degree of prestige. With that being said, Bill would have a variety of job offers once employers found out he had completed the program. The advantages if Bill decided to stay with Brady will be a higher salary and he has already adapted to the culture of the organization.

Cons Bill will be at a distinct disadvantage if he decided to stay with Brady. Most of his ideas were collaborated in a team setting. Brady promotes independent work from its employees. He may not have as much success if he has to come up with his own ideas. The disadvantage if Bill decided to take the computer manufacturing position would be relocation and adapting to another
