Tanglewood will have to do hire 3995 store associates, 100 shift leaders, and 156 department managers. Tanglewood would have too many assistant store managers with 21 extra, and 17 store managers would need to be hired. Thought out all the locations this is the projected numbers of staff that will need to be hired.
2. The job of store associates is low on the percent of females and minorities working. The percent of incumbency is not greater than or equal to the percent availability. Minorities have a two percent less incumbency than percent available for shift leaders. Department managers there are greater percent of availability than the incumbency.
The pattern that I would gather from also being in a workforce is that today women and minorities are still over looked for being able to do a job. They may not want to hire a female to a low skill job since it may require lifting heavy boxes or unloading semi trucks. Men still feel they are superior to women so when hiring a department manager Tanglewood might hire a male over a female. Males working under the female unfortunately might not do their job to the quality they would if another man told then what to do.
Same is true for minorities. The number of minorities working at most places is normally less than people of other races. Some times when people are at equal levels one person is a minority and the other in the majority race. That person in the majority still might feel they are superior to the person of a minority. While if they person is of greater standing in the company like a department manager. The person in the majority race still know that this person in my superior.
3 No. I do not think they should change how they do things. Recruiting is the process of going out and finding the best person they can for the company. I do not think it should matter if they the person is female, male, a minority, or a majority. The best person should get recruited. Doing what is best for the company is only what going to keep the company profitable and growing. Promotions are earned by the quality of one's work and self drive. A perfect example is where I work. I showed then my skill level and showed them I wanted to move up in the company by ways of talking to them about it. Asking for more jobs duties, I just showed interest. There is a young lady who works as a cashier been there seven years. She says she want a raise she been there for seven years and yet she does not get a raise. She was asked to learn the customer service desk and she said no. She has not self to do anything extra. Promotions are earned in my eyes. It is survival of the fittest no matter race or gender. A minority can out work a majority and so can a female out work a male.
No, a company should not try to fill all affirmative action goals in a single year. Focus on the goals that are needed to be completed at the moment. Being able to find the best candidate for position is very important. Rushing into things can lead to disaster. I have personally seen it where I work. They needed to fill a butcher manager position they interviewed a person who worked for a large
