Sovereign Quebec?

For a long time now, Quebec has wanted to become a sovereign nation. There have been many reasons that Quebec should become a nation of its own, and many reasons against it. There have also bee events that have occurred in the past that furthers both causes. Quebec has wanted change from some of the things that they are under rule with in Canada, such as, same sex marriage, legalizing small amounts of marijuana, making education priority, no religious affiliation for government institutions, and most importantly, an accountable, transparent, and honest government.

Canada has a big mix of English and French speaking population. Montreal is more of the English speaking Americanized parts, while Quebec is for the most part French, and has no future plans on making any changes. Quebec has always thought of itself as more of an independent from the country, much like Texas did back in the day. However, Quebec has its plans all laid out for change if it happens. One of the things Quebec wants is same sex marriage. Although Quebec doesn't have an overwhelming gay population, they try not to discriminate against any type of people, or race. They also want to legalize small amount of marijuana and make minimal fines for sums that would be over the legal limit.

Quebec has had some problems with its government in the past, the government tried to switch Quebec's official language to English instead of French, and that didn't go over to well. They have a very strong French culture and it has been the same since the people of Quebec arrived. Quebec wants the leaders of their nation to have no religious affiliation with government institutions, and they want to make sure that they have an extremely stable government, with plenty of checks and balances, making it so the people can see what they are doing, keeping them honest and reliable.

One of the most important things that would be important to the people of Quebec would be the high standard of school, teachers and parents. They would develop and improve on their current schooling system, making education more of a priority then anything else. School would become more prestigious in the fact that students would prioritize their lives better, and would be rewarded for it with scholarships and other ideals of the matter.
