Linux Installation Process:

FEDORA CORE-3

REDHAT LINUX 12

Switch on the compute and press "Delete" button to access BIOS settings

Select Boot using right arrow key ()

Choose CD-ROM as the First Priority Boot Device

Insert Linux installation CD-1 into the CD-ROM

Press F10

Click "OK", Booting will start now

Press "Enter" for graphical mode

Click on "Test" or you can skip it

Click on "OK"

To start installing Linux click on "Continue"

Click on "Next" button

Choose US English as Language

Mouse, monitor configuration will automatically be detected

Click on "Next" button

Choose "Install Fedora Core"

Choose "Personal Desktop"

Partition

i.Automatically (If there is free space in hard disk)

ii.Manual (If there is no free space in hard disk, then free space should be created manually)

Choose "Manual".

Delete the Vfat partition you want to install Linux to.

Select memory space for ext3 & swap. Memory space for swap should be double the RAM size.

Click on "OK"

Select country

Type Root Password

Select customize s/w pack

Click on "Continue"

Now installation of Linux will start

Insert CD-2, CD-3, when required

Choose "No, I don't want to create boot disk"

Click on "Reboot"

While rebooting, press "Delete" button to access the BIOS settings

Select Boot using right arrow key ()

Choose Hard disk as the First Priority Boot Device

Remove Linux installation CD from the CD-ROM

Press F10

Click "OK", computer will automatically reboot

If there is no operating system previously installed, Linux will start

If there is other operating systems installed, a menu will appear, choose Linux Fedora Core from the menu.
