The similarities between both Gandhi and Sun's Visions were to attempt to merge the positive elements by re-interpreting the traditions. Sun Yatsen says they need to restore the race to its original greatness by awakening the national spirit which has been a loss in the country of China. The reason for propaganda is to make every Chinese know and realize the people and nation are in danger of existence with other nationalities and powers. Gandhi believed that by bringing together enough communities that most of society would. "An empire that stands for injustice and breach of faith does not deserve to stand if its custodians will not repent and non-co-operation has been devised in order to enable the nation to compel justice."

A difference in the two mens ideas would be that India is aiming for a "Swaraj" which means self-governed or self-rule. Gandhi says "It was not a joke when I said on the congress platform that Swaraj could be established in one year if there was sufficient response from the nation. Three months of this year are gone. If we are true to our salt, true to our nation, true to the songs we sing, if we are true to the Bhagwad Gita and the Koran, we would finish the programme in the remaining nine months and deliver Islam the Punjab and India." Swaraj stresses on governing by not by the natural order of governs, but by self-governing through the people.

Both men are speaking about restoring the sovereign rights of the nation, for freedom, better moral values, unity as countries, and remaining organized. Each country has a plan that if it doesn't get done the country will keep decreasing. Sun Yatsen says the duty is to spread propaganda in order to awake our fellow countrymen to the weakness of our present positions.
