How to Help Every Child Become a Reader

How to help every child become a reader is an article published by the US department of education. In this article, it provides us with information on how we as parents and as a community can help our children become fluent readers. It gives us references to what we need to teach our children. It states, a significant reading breakthrough is within our grasp if we start early (with quality preschool experiences) and finish strong (with excellent reading instruction). Starting early at home as well in preschool gives our children background knowledge to reading. For example, reading is every where it is in our homes as well as on streets of our communities. The article also expresses the importance to read to our children on a daily basis. Daily reading is a method that will promote starting early. In addition to starting early we have to finish strong. Finishing strong involves continuing to be a part of our children reading instruction. For instance, enrolling our children in summer reading programs is a way to promote finishing strong.

In my opinion this article is a great tool for information for the parents. It provides the steps that can help our children with their reading. By helping the parents understand how important reading is, they can motivate the children at home. Encouragement is a great way to help promote reading. Encouragement and motivation is what is done to keep the children engaged in there activities. If these steps are followed it will help with gaining excellent reading instruction.
