INTRODUCTION

Hate crimes are the cruelty of prejudice and bigotry that is deliberately to hurt and intimidate someone because of their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation and disability. Hate crimes are also criminal acts that may involve physical assault, damage property, bullying. Verbal abuse, and hate letters.

Individuals who commit hate crimes

        Hate crimes are crimes that target and individual because of the hostility towards the person’s race disability, sexual orientations or religion.  The crimes are biased and may involve murder, rape, burning down of worship places among other actions. Most of the crimes that are committed are through the younger people and teenagers that are primary higher over people who commit hate crimes and they are mostly committed by white men and through organized classification and these largely affected people are the minority and are isolated in society. However, hate crimes includes women and children who are raped, people from a different race, different religion beliefs in a new country. These victims lack power and have no say and may continue being harassed unless such cases are reported to the higher authority.

Targets or victims of hate crime

        Targets and victims of hate crimes are blacks, Jews, gay men and Hispanics that are mostly targeted in hate crimes for the year.  Most of these hate crimes are racially influenced crimes that were executed against blacks and whites. According to the data from the FBI 20 percent of reported hate crimes were prompt by a bias against sexual orientation, 54 percent were ranked as anti-male homosexual, and 29 percent as plainly anti-homosexual. Religiously motivated hate crimes against Jews that are targeted is at and overall 65 percent, with Muslims in a 12 percent bracket. Hispanics are inspired by their race-related bias which leaves them with a 60 percent of hate crime.

The causes and effects of hate crimes

        The causes of these hate crimes are that they lead to insecurity   and tension in a community. They led to destruction of property, loss of lives, pollution of the environment, physical injury and traumatization of the victims.  Other causes can be that the victims are at direct attack to stress from anxiety and emotionally intensify vulnerability and being more afraid and are not safe visiting the territory where they were terrorized.  Therefore, hate crimes should be reported with immediate effect. Police helps solve such cases and other times act as mediator to prevent intensification of the crime in an area and hate crimes affects all individuals in every area of their life, work, school, and home.
