Fire Conditions

Life: Due to it being New Years Day, a holiday most have off, there will be many families vacating their home and asleep. There is a high level of threat to life. Floors one, two, and three are at risk of heat, smoke, and spread of fire if not contained. There's also a fire hazard to those structures around the building to become involved in the rescue. Firefighters are also in danger and safety precautions should be acknowledged.

Time: The time is early in the morning on January first. Forcible entry maybe required due to the fact that no one will be up and alert to signal or put down the fire.

Height of fire building: Because the fire is in the cellar there is no major complication, if higher floors do become involved the ladder companies will still be able to reach suck heights for rescue and fire extinguishments.

Area of fire: The area of the fire presents no danger.

Construction: Due to the age of the building is over 70 years old, the structure is proven to be made of an abundant load of wood. This makes the building easily able to be consumed by the fire. The cellar may be used as a storage and full of easily combustible items, feeding the fire. The ceiling joist may be connected to neighboring buildings and present a hazard to others.

Occupancy: The building was remodeled to be able to fit more tenants in the building. This proves to be more time consuming for firefighters to be able to perform room checks for rescue operations and fire extinguishment. Due to the subdivided rooms proper safety exits may not be available.

Location and extent: The fire has begun in the cellar. It can reach the rest of the building and the neighboring buildings as well if not maintained under control. Heat, smoke and fire can spread easily. That is why the containment of the fire to stay and not leave the cellar is important due to the apparent conditions.

Exposure: All of the floors above the cellar are in danger of burning.
