7 Train Love Story?!

On October 6th, I was on my way to the Bronx to meet up with my cousins. It was a bright sunny day and busy down around 61 Street Woodside. Pedestrians were trying to cross the street while cars were coming from every direction. My focus was trying to cross the street, but the smell of Dunkin Donut coffee in the air was distracting enough to make me want to stop by and get myself something. I rushed to go catch the train, but ended up waiting 10 minutes.

While waiting for the Flushing bound 7 train, I noticed a couple approaching for it as well. I always saw them around 61 Street Woodside and that day they got on the same train as I did. They live around my neighborhood and I've always seen them walking around holding hands. I saw them going into the Thai restaurant around Christmas last year and they go to the 7-11 shop often. They showed a lot of public display of affection towards each other.

I figured out their names very fast because I sat right next to them on the train and I could hear them whispering to one another. They were huddled together, as though they were allies. They looked like they were between the ages of 20-24. They were the cutest Filipino couple I had ever seen. I loved the way the girl dressed, very girly and cute. She reminded me of cotton candy, with its soft hues and a sensitive-like feel. The boy had on Jordan's and looked like he went with the flow. Kayla was a beautiful girl with a sharp little nose, rosy cheeks and hazel eyes and chestnut-brown wavy hair with shiny side bangs. Roland with spiked hair, smooth tanned skin and light brown eyes with a bit of stubble and sideburns. They were always casually attired and the most cutest thing I noticed was they always matched. That very day Kayla had on a light pink dress and Roland had a matching light pink t-shirt.

Roland had his arms around Kayla and they were both sharing a slurpee and laughing. Sitting next to them afforded me an intimate insight into their relationship. It was obvious that they were enamored with each other.

Kayla: "I'm happy but I don't know if things are going to be like I think, like I dream them to be. I'm scared to lose you. Roland: I promise things are going to be like you once dreamed them to be, I just wish to be in your dreams. Kayla: You know you are in my dreams. Roland: (smiling) Please can you look me in the eyes. Kayla: (looking at him directly through the eyes in a cute smile) Please say something. Roland: I love you. Kayla: I love you too. Roland: Please don't be afraid I'll protect you, I'll make you happy, and we got a lifetime ahead of us. Kayla: I....I really really love you. Roland: I really love you too.

I was astonished by the couple's conversation. I had never seen a couple so deeply in love before. It was such a long train ride I overheard everything and didn't feel guilty about being a silent intruder in a private conversation.

On October 10th I noticed the same couple on the train again. This time their conversation wasn't as good. Kayla had on a red blouse and a short black skirt with her brown hair tied in a ponytail. Roland wore a red shirt with a black blazer and he had his hair gelled down. As soon as they sat down I saw Roland taking Kayla's hands in his and he was staring deep into her eyes. I couldn't hear much because there were too many people on the train. His face looked strained.
