Desertification

It is currently the year of 2047 in the month of August on the day of the 15. I Jordan Neil from Tulsa ,Oklahoma have wrote this story to tell you about Desertification. Desertification is caused by the Earth's orbit. It was also elevated by atmospheric and vegetation feedbacks. If the desertification continues the world will be a desert by the year 2100.

Desertification is the development of desertthe most. This been increasing in the past 20 years sometimes rapidly and sometimes slowly. Even today environmental destru like conditions which means low precipitation. This leads to loss of vegetation. When this happens there will be tons of dust storms. Less than 100 mm of rain falls in a year back in time desertification did not exist. This means fair vegetation around the world. Also there was more than 100mm of rain a year. As to now when there is less than 100mm of rain a year.

Another reason for desertification is deforestation. Deforesting is the state of clearing trees. The trees that they have cut hold the dirt to the ground . As of right now there are 3 to 6 billion trees that are cut down in a year. This leads to a lot of free dirt. When the wind catches this dirt that leads to terrible dust storms. Before the year 2070 the trees are going to be almost gone. This is the leading cause of desertification because it leaves the soil vulnerable to erosion.

Desertification is a big problem in the dry arid areas of the world like Africa. It has been harmful to nearly 50% of the land as a result of human mistreatment. According to Scientist Alexis Norman north America and Spain have been affected ction is continued. Few lessons have been learned from the past 20 years says Dr. Linda.

Another human cause of desertification is overgrazing. Overgrazing is when the vegetation is grazed on to much which damages the vegetation leaving the ground liable to erosion. Livestock also directly contribute to habitat change such as overgrazing and overstocking accelerate desertification. 70% of the previously forested land in the amazon is used for pasture for cattle.

In some arid areas of the world there is incorrect irrigation systems. This causes a build up of salt in the soil. The farmers get the water for their crops from canals and other poor areas. This mostly happens in the more poor areas of the this is another
