Formulation of a mission statement is very important part in the set up of every business or organisation.Traditionally, defining the mission answers the question:"What business are we in?"

I have definied a mission statement of one oligopolistic company in the business environment of our country.The name of the company is Mobiltel.At my point of view its mission should be:

To develop the best and most reliable wireless network in the country that empowers people with the freedom to communicate effortlessly.

The mission provides a framework for the organisation's objectives, and the objectives should be consisitent with, and promote the mission.

A recent international survey held in 16 countries showed that 52% of the Bulgarian population use mobile phones.The market share of Mobiltel is bigger than the other competitor in the same market - GloBul.Over 2 and a half million people use the services and the network of Mobiltel. Furthermore, the potential of this market is endless and the number of people with a cellular phones will be increasing.Because of the high rate of crime parents are worried about their children.Fact that will lead to a higher number of mobile phones in the households.

Mobiltel was the first company that started to provide the GSM services.At the beginning the prices of both phones and services were relatively high.Nowadays the situation is completely different.The issuance of pre-paid communication - Prima increase pretty much the market share.The other competitor in the oligopoly GloBul appeared on the market before 4 years but the rate of development was very high. After the first 6 months of the last year the market share of the company was 36% and the number of potential customers over 1 200 000.

Considering the internal environment of both companies and their functional structure I believe that GloBul are ahead.They rely pretty much on the distributors - over 450 stores in the country. That way they can be "more easily reached" by the potential customers.And there are still a lot of potential customers that would like to use the benefits of wireless communication.

Prices of the services are almost the same, but it seems that GloBul is offering cheaper packages.Probably this is the reason why people prefer to subscribe from Mobiltel to GloBul. Mobiltel still has the better network but as a
