Abortion

“Abortion is about allowing woman the right to make choices about when they want to have children in relation to their age, unforeseen circumstances & their health” (news 24. P.1). Abortion has been a controversial issue in the united states for decades.

Women should have the right to decide to have an abortion when their age plays a major roll. Allowing abortion to be illegal will increase teenage pregnancy throughout the United States. According to the news article, teenage pregnancy leads to illegal abortions which can cause permanent harm and or death (news 24, p. 10).

Legal abortions protect women’s health and are safe procedures rather than illegal abortions where some clinics are harmful. Women who have a history of health issues and concerns are more likely to have a terrified pregnancy and passing those health issues to their babies. Legal abortions give women the right to choose what is best for them and their unborn child in the future (news 24.).

Abortion should be legalized due to the fact of unforeseen circumstances that happen throughout the United States daily. A women should have the right to get an abortion if she has been raped. No child should be born to a women who will despise them or not love them completely for their entire life. A women should have the right to her own body when she is taken advantage of and should not have to carry a baby that is not wanted. Another unforeseen circumstance that can happen to anyone is, if the birth control method that was used, failed. An unpredictable pregnancy that a women does not want, she should have the right to abort her fetus.

In conclusion, abortion is a moral argument based on personal thoughts and should not be legislated against. A women has her rights to her own body and what she does to her body should be her decision.
