The House of Representatives made the Tenure of Office Act in March 1867. This Act was made in order to limit presidential power to remove officeholders and/or members of his cabinet without the consent of the Senate. The president Andrew Johnson wasn’t in favor of this Act because he saw it as unconstitutional because it limited his power to decide who were going to be the officeholders or his cabinet members as he would like to.

The prohibition that the Tenure of Office Act made on Andrew Johnson was in some way good. It was good not only because in this way he wouldn’t have absolute power. When an officeholder or a cabinet member isn’t doing his work correctly it should be consulted and discussed among the Government, and because the House of Representatives and Senate form the Government, they should have power to decide and agree or disagree with the President’s opinion. People should always have the last word in such decisions, because they will always prefer the best for them and would never let someone ruin their way of living or
