Debate 1 Response

Oct 1, 2016

In the first debate, the most compelling point made by Trump is he will be reducing taxes, tremendously, from 35% to 15% for company, small and big businesses. Because I want to have job in American, if the tax reduces, I can get more chances. The most effective point made by Hillary is that we have to make the economy fair, and that start with raising the minimum wage and guarantee finally equal pays for women’s work. Because after I graduated, I might receive the minimum wage for several years, so I care this point more.

The least compelling point made by Trump should be that we have to renegotiate our trade deals and we have to stop these countries from stealing our companies and jobs. Because this is the era of international trade, I don’t think his right. For Hillary, the least compelling point is that we can deploy a half billion more solar panels, and we can have enough clean energy to power every home, and also we can build a new modern electrical grid. Because new energy also costs nonrenewable resources, I don’t think it’s an effective idea.

The issue that I feel most important to America is how to control guns. Because guns can be very dangerous if most of residents keep them. Many people are afraid of guns because they are lethal than other weapons. According to research, more than twelve thousands of people died of shooting every year. Thus, gun control is very important.

What I care most is that Hillary said, “We have to make the economy fair, and that start with raising the minimum wage.” Because as a college student, I care more about my future. If I can get higher wage after I graduated, that would be nice. To deal with this thing, Hillary also said, “First, we have to build an economy that works for everyone not just for those at the top. That means we need new jobs, good jobs, with rising incomes.” However, Trump didn’t mention whether we should raise minimum wage. He said, “You look at what China is doing to our country in terms of making our product.” “They are devaluing their currency and there is nobody in our government to fight them. They are using our country as a piggy back to build China.” “We are losing our good jobs. So many of them.”
