Tommy Lee

born: 03-10-1962

birth place: Athens, Greece

Tommy Lee, first and foremost, is a musician. From his in-home studio to his platinum records, Lee is the face of the celebrity rocker, which is why his extracurricular activities draw so much attention.

Although born in Greece, Tommy grew up in California and discovered his love of drums at the age of four. Having spent his teenage years listening to the likes of Deep Purple, it wasn't long before he dropped out of school in search of his own band.

It was whilst playing in his band Suite 19, that the young Tommy met Nikki Sixx and went on to form Mцtley Crьe. Mick Mars and Vince Neil completed the line-up and the band were quick to release their debut album - 'Too Fast for Love' on their own label.

However, it was after signing to Elektra Records that the band found big success with albums like 'Girls, Girls, Girls' and 'Dr. Feelgood'. Besides being a true showman on the drums, Tommy became a tabloid favourite thanks to his marriage first to Heather Locklear and then Baywatch star, Pamela Anderson. It was during this time that the infamous 'sex-tape' scandal rocketed the couple to worldwide notoriety. The marriage also bought Tommy a time in prison after Anderson alleged Lee hit her.

Following Mцtley Crьe's Greatest Hits tour in 1999, Tommy left the band and formed Methods of Mayhem, issuing a self-titled album the same year and touring with it. He teamed up with Mцtley Crьe again in 2001 to take part in a tell-all autobiography, 'The Dirt' and in 2005 the band set off on a mammoth reunion tour - The Red, White & Crьe Tour and released an album.

When he's not with Mцtley Crьe, Tommy makes a living by guesting on other artists' albums, such as Nine Inch Nails. While his solo album, 'Never a Dull Moment', aired more towards rap metal he returned to the fold in 2005 with a self-penned book and album - 'Tommyland'.

Tommy's most recent outing saw him returning to college in the reality show 'Tommy Lee Goes to College'.
