The Two Faced City: Las Vegas

Miles away in the Mojave desert at night bears a beacon; the last pale light in the west, a

symbol of utopia, the signature of leisure and manipulation. A city that never sleeps, a city where

tourists and high rollers congregate at the finest hotels, casinos and clubs. Welcome to Vegas a

certain smell of welcome, adventure and warmth accompanies the city in the thick of neon lights.

Exotic dancers roam and perform at the well known Las Vegas Strip, the heart and soul of sin city,

Days in Vegas are as bright and friendly as a child in a picnic, but when nightfall emerges, the city transforms. from Batman to the Joker.

Casinos mesmerize even the most disciplined cheapskates, deceiving most with their

luxurious atmosphere of welcoming warmth consisting of leather, shiny metals and well dressed

attendants. Attractive tall show girls in shining dresses and curled up buns, intimately seducing you

to keep the slots rolling during the night, or downing another of their booze, the weight of your

wallet bleeds out, and your credit card scarred. The sound of slot machines reign throughout the

lobby and gambling area. On some occasion you may hear the sound of a jackpot or a blackjack

A sudden warmth embraces you as hotel rooms contain the “Home away from Home”

message with their Gigantic, perhaps double queen size beds, stuffed with the softest substances

ever possible. you can notice as you slip away into serenity as you lay and beg for the morning to

never come. This sanctuary also contains a large glass pane window, blinding you either with

neon lights that plague the night, or the peaceful blue morning tint.

The shuffling of cards wielded by shifty characters as they hand out cards advertising

girls, either in the dark, or in the neon covered strip, talented musicians playing sweet melodies

that as if holy ambrosia was converted to a headache reliever as it seeps through your ears as you walk

through this vibrant city. When the morning comes, a new type of life emerges. The city changes

from the Joker, to Batman, as it becomes a child friendly safe haven, surrounded with Arcades and

candy easily accessible. Urban city lights and sounds flow freely through the Strip. Shopping malls

come around every corner like a bad habit.
