The Origins of Man

Once upon a time, a new yet different creature was thought of. This creature was referred to as a hominid. They lived in Africa and they were the earliest human like creatures to date.The first stage of a hominid was known as the Southern Ape or Australopithecines. They could have been found in Eastern Africa and also Southern Africa. Australopithecines were the first creatures to produce some straightforward stone tools. After this stage, they evolved a bit more into the Upright Human Being a.k.a. Ð''Homo Erectus'. This act came about around 1.5 million years ago. They left Africa first and this was made possible because they learnt about a technique they could use to keep warm; the creation of fire! They also started to use different and bigger tools. Next, at approximately 250,000 years ago, a wise human being was thought of, known as the Homo Sapiens, and at around 100,000 B.C. they developed into two groups; the main one being called Neanderthals. They killed animals for food and then they used the skin from the animals to make clothing. The first people who really looked like us were Ð''Homo Sapiens Sapiens'. They came to be at around 150,000 to 200,000 years ago. The Homo Sapiens Sapiens used to collect fruits, berries, nuts, grains, and plants. They also started to catch animals; some of them being goats, fish, horse, etc.

The Paleolithic Age

A new point in time, which was around 2,500,000 to 10,000 B.C., the Ð''Old Stone Age came into play. This time was also referred to as the Paleolithic Age. The Paleolithic people living during this time were nomadic. Nomadics are those who move all around trying to follow where the animals and vegetation was at its best. They mainly lived in caves since it was so cold, until of course they discovered the use of fire!

The Mesolithic Age

In the next age; the Mesolithic Age; they didn't really hunt anymore. They started to just tame certain animals and started growing their food on a regular base, to save them having to hunt for food. This was now a food producing economy but also sort of new to the people.

The Neolithic Age

Next, was the Neolithic Age that came about, but was also commonly known as the Agricultural Revolution as well.
