The astounding high salary of celebrated sports stars has been brought into spotlight recently. Some complain that their performances do not deserve such huge pay;while others insist there is nothing unfair for them to acquire wealthy as well as fame. Take a further look as following.

On one hand, those people who go for reducing sports stars’ salary always mention that it widen the income gap within society, therefore may cast a negative influence on immature people. In fact, some top stars are earning in a staggering rate. Take David Beckham as an example, after transferring from the Real Madrid to L.A. Galaxy, his weekly salary has jumped onto approximately 100,000 pounds. Conversely, although many governments, such as USA or Britain ,are carrying out plans to increase the public minimum wage, reality is not as satisfactory as we thought. For, the average range of increase is negligible compared with that of sports professional. Also, young generation who are lacking of judgment and experience will be over-fascinated with their sports idol’s achievement. As a result, abandoning their study at early age with a unrealistic superstar dream has become another social problem. Therefore the high salary of sports stars should be curbed.

However, high salary is also significant. Considering the effort and injury those players went through before becoming successful, they really deserve what they obtained. Imagine a runner who has to exercise nearly ten hours every day; a boxer who always struggles with dangerous hit, a soccer who is suffering from chronic arthritis, not every one could bear the variety of sports injury and the long term segregation from the normal world) Furthermore, as professional sportsmen, they have to spend more than ordinary people, such as purchase of expensive sports facilities and a great deal of tax. Besides this, an early-age retirement is another problem they have to concern. However, public only admire their vivid life, how many people could know players’ tear and scar.

Although it is true that the sports stars are earning far more than ordinary people I still believe that famous sports professionals more or less deserve millions of dollars for their talent, effort and endurance.
