Hey! Pako, do you observe any differences of our campus between this year and last year?

The 334 curriculum has started. Together with the AL entrants, the total number of CUHK students has dramatically increased. This causes the problems of resource allocation in different aspects. We come up with four different problems in the campus. They are transportation, canteens, computer in libraries and discussion rooms. Then we have conducted a survey of questionnaires and distributed them to CUHK students. And here are the results of our questionnaires after analysis. The higher the mark is, the more CUHK students concern. And we find that the transportation problem is the most serious problem in their mind. Therefore, we would like to focus on solving this problem.

Why is the transportation problem so serious? There are two reasons to explain it. The first one is the long waiting time. According the survey conducted, the mean of the waiting time is 9.81mins. This will really cause the CUHK late in the lessons. Also Limited service hours of the school bus may cause some inconvenience to the students who late leaves the campus.

The bus schedule is modified by both students and the operation department of CUHK. The Officers in CUHK have been made a consultation period for the students to share their needs of the bus service. Finally, they have come up with a new bus route for the bus service after the start of the 2012/2013 semester.

Also, there is the better classroom allocation for the lectures used. For examples, we are BBA students and most of our lessons will stay near the University train station in order to reduce workload of the school bus services.

Therefore, we have proposed an alternative solution. It is automatic Bicycle Rental Service in Japan. In the campus, students can borrow a bike to transit between two places. You must be interested how they can implement in the campus. We will have a further explanation on this idea in the 4Ps analysis. And we invite Carlson to talks about first 2Ps.

To conclude, after the survey and the full investigation we conducted, we can conclude that there are several reasons to support the establishment of the Bicycle Rental Service.
