-Author Background-

In my book the author of the book was the same person who wrote the book except he had help from a man named Jason Borte. Jason is one of the writers that Kelly Slater had known from one of the local magazines that had continuously kept up on the major aspects of his so called career. Jason Was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was raised on a farm where his family of five had worked hard to put all the children in school. Jason Later after high school moved to California where he would be introduced to the way of life known as the surfer or surf scene. Jason then went on to go into school to study journalism as a major at florida state university. It would be here that he would meet Kelly and become great friends that carries on to the very strong bond today. Jason now resides in an apartment in florida with his wife and three kids.Jason has alos helped in the magazine industry where hes contributed alo to the culture and given readers of surfing the political and public view on all the typical political crap that comes along with the sport. The sport has scene a lot of change since then and now is being pushed by stupid insignificant things that the sport really isn't about. The sport is about a free willed nature of just being one with nature and being able to have that peaceful nature to connect with the ocean. All surfing is is the connection between the earth and the natural beauty that it seasonally gives us and as long as we take care of it it will keep on giving to us and we should be thankful. Surfing in the asp is a very demanding and rigorus time.. The worst part of it is the travel that comes with it and how you can go days with out real contact from friends or family but are really forced into a male bonding stage with your competitors and almost become close to brothers in a since that any of them is willing to give up something for someone else on that team. Jason Borte is a good writer and truly did a great job putting this book together with Mr. Slater.
