Early Game:

Ok. Sven isn't good at early game. And he's quite bad against ranged hero (especially drow ranger who can slow you down if you are running away). So, take the left lane if you are Scourge, or take the right lane if you are Sentinel. You will be closer to the your tower when you begin to fight. You can also choose to take middle. It's your choice.

If you bought the Animal Courier, leave it at your base. Once you get enough money to buy whatever item you want, quickly use the Animal to buy that item. Otherwise, you will lose those precious money you farmed if you are killed.

Try to deny creeps if possible, and get enough money to buy Battle Fury. The Battle Fury's Cleaving Attack will stack with your Cleaving Attack skill. This will help you get all the creep kills that your creeps have been stealing from.

Always watch your back while farming. If you are at the border (or the river), watch out because someone could come and backstab you while you are busy fighting creeps. And melee heroes running away isn't so fun because your creeps might block you.

Avoid confronting heroes (especially ranged heroes or INT heroes that has high damage spells), but help your team mate to get your opponent out of the game by stunning the enemy hero with your Storm Bolt. If you see a low life hero and you think you can get him, then go for it. But don't pursue him if he runs to his tower.
