Skillsoft: Developing a High Performance Organization

In order for a company or organization to be a high performance organization managers must ensure that a culture exist. The culture should align its strategic mission with the external environment. High performance culture is built around a clearly defined strategic goal. Wal-Mart, my place of work, is known to be the largest company in the United States. The mission value statement at Wal-Mart is to provide good customer service to the customers by low prices and matching the prices of their competitors. Saving money and living better is the slogan that Wal-Mart lives by. The goal of Wal-Mart is to make customers happy so that they will keep coming back. There are three basic beliefs that represent the core value at Wal-Mart. These basic beliefs of Wal-Mart are respect for the individual, service to the customer, and strive for excellence.

The managers at Wal-Mart lead with example. They set the tone of the leadership. The managers make sure that the store is running in proper order. The managers will perform their required duties of making sure to communicate with the associates as well as, the customers. The managers also enforce the rules and regulation of the store, give task to the lower managers, have staff meetings twice a day to make sure that the duties and task are worked on, do a walk around to see what is needed, and make sure to interact with the customers.

The human resource manager at Wal-Mart makes sure that the employee's insurance benefits, employee compensation, and pay is understood by all the employees. The focus of the human resource manager is to train new associates, provide the rules and regulations, and make sure that the employees apply to the rules and regulations of the Wal-Mart Company.

The Texas Integrated Justice Information System is a statewide advisory group organized to focus on compensation regarding information system standards among justice, public safety, and homeland security. The Integrated Justice Information system provides data for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) to recognize the value of sharing information electronically among local, state, and federal agencies.

The mission statement of the Texas Integrated Justice Information System (TIJIS) is help provide data information for different businesses such as the Texas Department of Justice, the hospital,
