Should those convicted of a felony be barred from employment in a Company?

This research paper will be about; should those convicted of a felony be barred from

employment in a company? I will explore the views of this question from all angles.

I will explore the view points of the employer, the convicted felon, and the public.

The argument of convicted felons in the work place; is an argument that has many sides and circumstances. In this argument you have the side of the employer and on the other side you have the argument of the convicted felon. Then you have view point of the public. Should convicted felons have a job? That is the heart of the question at hand. Convicted felons need work to just like any one else. The circumstance surrounding this question is what the felony was. There is a wide variety of felonies and this will be taken in consideration when asked should convicted felons be barred from employment.

The point of view of the employer is a variation of circumstances dealing with convicted felons. First; what was the felony that the applicant was charged with? The concerns of the employer are; if the applicant was charged with burglary or robbery; he or she might be prone to steal from the company. If the applicant was charged with a felony dealing with drugs; he or she might be prone to steal and be a safety hazard to the company. If the applicant was charged with a violent act; he or she might be prone to react in a violent out burst toward the employees and the public. Then if the applicant is charged with a sexual felony; he or she may be a threat to the other employees and the public. Therefore companies would rather not hire convicted felons; due to the many risk that is involved in hiring a felon. Companies have the right to deny anyone of employment due to a felony. It is in the best interest of the company, the employee, and the customer; that they are safe in there place of business. Everyone disserves a safe environment well at there place of employment.

The point of view from the stand point of a convicted felon is one of desperation. Image if you were just released from prison and had a felony on you record; what would you do? You have to earn a living some how. Imagine this you have paid your debt to society and yet every place you have tried to seek employment has turned you down because of you felony. You are trying to lead a good productive life as a citizen; but it is made difficult by companies not giving you a chance to prove it. Most felons are not bad people they just made some mistakes in there life; something everyone has done in one point or another in there life time. What would you do at this point? You can't earn a living to support your self; so turn to the life of crime because you fill it is hopeless. Convicted felons frill the need a second chance to prove them selves to be productive citizens. Many felons fill that society has given up on them so why should they even try.

The opinion of the public is diverse and circumstantial as this argument is. The publics concern is what the convicted felon was charged with. If he or she was charged with a felony that is not manger like drug chargers, burglary chargers, and white collar felonies; then the public is more sympathetic with the felon. But if he or she was convicted with a sexual offence
