There is a conflict in the relationship of the two main charactersÐŽXJeffery and Lisa. And the source of this conflict traces back to the different living styles as well as different personal characteristics of the two. A clear example of this conflict may reveal itself in the perfect dinner arranged by Lisa alone.

In one way, Jeffery acts more like an outcast in the society, compared to the success of Lisa and his detective friend. He has little confidence and tends to be more anxious about his future. Opposite to his dreams or his adventurous nature, Lisa asks for a promised living style, a more stable one, though less adventurous. And this probably makes Jeffery hesitated into making a commitment to love or marriage, despite his care for Lisa. Jeffery seeks rather his own individuality, and cannot find his way for a choice of an alternative.

In another way, Lisa belongs more to the mainstream of social expectations. She may not be as romantic or idealistic or adventurous as Jeffery, but she is meeting everyone elseÐŽ¦s anticipation toward a successful, an attractive, and above all a perfect woman. However, when we observed every commitment of such an unbelievably amazing woman to Jeffery, a seemly unsuitable man to fall in love with, what is really in our mind? Do we have the same notion as the housekeeper: having a rather conventional idea and thinking Jeffery should hold no more doubts and accept LisaÐŽ¦s love? Or do we sympathize with Lisa in the film that successful women would somehow turn into an outcast of true love and happiness?

As we observed in the end of the film, the conflict reduced and there is a subtle growth in both characters. Lisa showed her flexible personality and became even more active into exposing her adventurous feature. She broke into the salesmanÐŽ¦s house and was caught in the middle of things by the salesman himself. And this is when Jeffery opened his heart and discovered the likeliness between him and Lisa. During the course of plot, the discrepancy between the couple turned insignificant, and they did work together in order to have the criminal arrested. This may be why we see a smile on Jeffery face, even though the situation turns worseÐŽXfrom a broke leg to broken legs. And Lisa is still at JefferyÐŽ¦s side.
