1. Describe your own view of each of these beliefs and discuss how each one will be important to your work as a professional counselor. Provide specific examples to illustrate your ideas.

A. Well in order for the counselor to understand wellness, we must figure out the definition of wellness. Wellness is an active process of becoming aware of and making choices towards a more successful existence. This means assisting clients in making the right choices for their situations. Creating awareness means that we continuously seek more information about how we can improve the situation. My view on the Wellness Model is that it's healthy to figure out the client's mental health status before starting a counseling session, creating a questionnaire is helpful for counselors because this will allow them to gather a great deal of information in a short amount of time, and research the problems that the client has come to you about.

B. Developmental perspective place emphasizes on changing the behavior that occurs during at any point in time in a person's life. For example, my husband of 7 years was not the person I thought I was marring. Do this person leaves or stay? In this example, the man decides to leave because he must figure out what he wants out of life, at the age of 35, this is a developmental perspective or crisis moment in his life.

C. Early intervention and prevention is great if it's caught in the beginning. Most times this is not the case when it comes to counseling, many individuals that in counseling, in my opinion are seeking prevention. Usually the early intervention is missed because they are now seeking help with their problems. For example, a student is acting out because they need attention at home, or is being bullied. The early intervention is not missing, because the child has decided to show their behavior in a different way. This is prevention takes place to resolve, and ongoing problems and help the child out in a positive way.

D. Goal of counseling in my opinion is for clients to learn how to solve their problems without seeking help each time a problem arises. The only example that I can think of is for a person to continually to allow themselves to be hurt, and not learn how to foster good health.
