"Procrastination"

The second to the last activity I had was attending a seminar regarding "Procrastination" held last October 20, 2004. My goal in attending this kind of talk is to know all about procrastination, how it affects my personality as a whole and how can I resist the temptation for me to avoid it. Knowing about procrastination can really help a lot of people in this situation.

The talk started in how procrastination is being defined. Procrastination as defined is to put off doing something, especially out of habitual carelessness or laziness. It is also to postpone or delay needlessly. Whatever meaning it has, still it's a bad habit. A bad habit that cannot really be lost at all. And the truth is people cannot really escape the call to procrastinate.

There are many causes that lead the people to procrastinate. People procrastinate in some ways that they really has the tendency to do it but in some cases it's really the bad will to procrastinate. They procrastinate because of confusion, lack of priorities, lack of responsibility, fear of risk taking, to escape, anxiety and depression, obsessive compulsive behavior, monotony and boredom, fatigue, outside forces and lastly lack of analytical ability. Some of these causes can't really be avoided but some can be resisted.

It can be resisted in a way that people can manage their time wisely. They can also identify what are the things that lead them to procrastinate and try to avoid it. Asking help can also lessen a person to procrastinate.

Knowing these things, I can now try to avoid little by little the bad deed to procrastinate. In fact, I really realize that procrastination have no good at all. It is just a bad deed that can destroy one's personality. And people should really overcome this temptation. Because in overcoming this bad deed, people really lead to success.
