In my childhood, my parents moved three times in order to find a great neighbourhood which can have a powerful effect on my life. I really believe that these neighborhoods affected my hobbies, my interpersonal relationship and health a lot.

Firstly, the neighbourhood socio-economic advantage has a large influence on my life. Both my parents are engineers in a famous state-owned enterprise, so relatively high personal incomes allow them to live in an advantaged community, which can provide relatively high education levels and good quality of life for me. I still remember that I developed many interests and hobbies, for instances, drawing, samba, singing and playing the piano in my childhood. All of these hobbies and interests not only bring me lots of happiness, but also let me feel more confident in my life. I took part in different events to show my abilities to other students and teachers. Therefore, my neighbourhood is a good area that provide me good schools, teachers and resources which influence my development a lot.

Secondly, a safe neighborhood also affects my interpersonal relationship. I have lived in a neighborhood that was unsafe. My friends and I can only some have some after-school activities in our community when adults accompanied with us, so I used to watch television at home and have less communication with my friends after school. Due to watching too much television, I had to wear glasses at a very young age. However, when my family moved to another safe neighborhood, safe sport facilities and the safe community allow me to have more outdoor activities. Also, this community usually hold some sports events, such as football and ping-pong competition, which really tightened the friendship between my friends and I.

Thirdly, the physical environment of my neighborhood have a huge influence on my health. There were some industries around the community where I used to live. Because these industries exhausted waste gas which lead to air pollution, some of many family members and I had chronic breathing problems. Also, my health was affected by lack of access to nutritious foods combined with ready access to fast food outlets. Eating too much fast food lead to many diseases, such as obesity which really influence my growth at a young age. However, when we moved to a new community with better resources for exercise, such as parks, my family members and I preferred to spend more time on walking and running in parks after dinner. In addition, our community was closed to some supermarkets which typically sell fresh produce, so we can eat less fast food and reduce the risk of obesity.

In conclusion, although my life is shaped in part by my family and education, my neighborhood condition affects a large part of my life. The neighborhood is a place where my family live and exercise, where I play with my friends, and where opportunities outnumber risks. Living in different communities, I can understand the importance of a safe community and thank for my life.
