Nancy Leigh DeMoss taught us about modesty and what we should wear on our bodies, thoughts, and words. Nancy is an amazing speaker and motivator.

The first section of Nancy's speech consists of "what is modesty". We answered true or false questions about what we thought modesty was. We should be privileged that we don't have to wear robes and turbans, but at the same time should not take advantage of what God wants and does not want us to wear.

The next section was section two. This section was about what our clothing says about us to others; strangers, family and friends. Clothing and appearance sends a message. Uniforms are necessary for a career. "You can look at some people and think, She looks like a wealthy woman." says Nancy. In Luke 16 we hear about a man dressed in purple and he was rich and wealthy. In Genesis 38 Tamar was taken as a Harlot by a man she knew.

Amid the third section Nancy Leigh DeMoss discusses the worlds view of clothing and what ours should be. In Genesis chapter one and beginning of two, the Bible says "And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed." They had never experienced evil, so their nudity was shameless. In chapter 3 the devil tempts them and they give in. In verse 7 "then the eyes of both were opened." And they knew that they which once didn't know were "NAKED". So God made them clothes of animal skin.

In section 3 Nancy talks about how your body is a temple not the essence of your identity. She states how she bought teenage magazines in preparation for her speech. Looking at the pictures she realized what was being taught to our young girls today. The pictures disgusted her. The world teaches that beauty is external, but the Christians philosophy is internal. But beauty is internal and spiritual not outward.
