To be a living sacrament of Christ is a great honor. A sacrament is an outward sign of something sacred. My definition of a living sacrament is a human who is specially chosen by God to serve and set an example of how we all can help each other and the world. To me, to be a saint your inner soul which is not visible is sacred and as equal to a sacrament. On the other hand your body is what is the visible part.

The saint I selected is mother Frances Cabrini. She was born on July 15, 1850, in the town of San Angelo, south of Milan in Italy. She was the youngest of thirteen children. With her eight other sisters she founded the Missionary sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Then from there, Pope Leo Xlll asked her to go to New York to help many of the new immigrants. When she arrived she was determined to start an orphanage but the archdiocese was doubtful. That did not stop her, her faith and determination kept her strong and allowed her to build the orphanage.

Then, for the next 28 years of her life she continued founding schools, hospitals, and orphanages. Many times she had to deal with obstacles like lawsuits, lack of funds, revolutions, etc. Her stories are now used to tell us how her faith helped her get through tough times. One of the famous is about a dream she had of her on a beautiful house on a hilltop. It related towards the way he got her property for an orphanage. The next day she received the house from a stranger driving along in a limousine that she waved to.

Her dream was an example of how she was a living sacrament of Jesus. This shows that Jesus always was with her to support her in making this world a better place. Mother Frances Cabrini helps people experience Gods kingdom by being a role model to others and showing that miracles happen if you have faith in Jesus. Mother Frances Carbrini was the first U.S. citizen to be canonized. Her feast day is December 22.

In conclusion, a saint is a person who is sacred and is seen also as a holy image. To be known as a living sacrament is a great honor that is why I chose Mother Frances Cabrini.
