Moral Delema of Stem Cells

A lot of people agree that killing a child before its born is murder, and if we are considering an un-born human to be an actual human then I would have to agree. The definition of murder is "The unlawful killing of a human being with deliberate intent to kill. Murder in the first degree is characterized by premeditation. And if we understand exactly what we are doing, then how can it not be considered murder. But, let's go further back, before the fetus is formed. Let's go all the way back to the stem cell, a group of cells formed in about the first 5 days of pregnancy. Embryonic stem cells are bitts of unformed genetic potential that later turn into cells that make up the brain, the heart, blood and bone and every other kind of cell in the body.

Scientists are trying to use these stem cells in experiments to find a cure for many diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and even a damaged spinal cord or vision. One scientist, Harvard's Melton is using stem cells to study juvenile diabetes. He believes that a ball of cells frozen in liquid nitrogen isn't the same as a 5 year old girl with diabetes. His point is very well put, that if we can take a human cells from a fertile human egg to save and/ or lengthen the lives of humans to day, then why not?

Can killing the stem cells be considered murder? Are stem cells considered a human life yet? I believe so. I believe (from a "higher power" point of view.) that god intended for this child to be born. I'm a firm believer in that every thing happens for a reason and if god gave the blessing of life to that child, we in no way, shape, or form should have any thing to do with the disruption of his will. And many people agree with this, Like George W. Bush for instance, has set a band on implanting humans with fetal tissue. He says "that a cluster of cells is the same way you and I started our lives."

Stem cell research isn't a matter of finding a cure for the future; it's about taking an innocent life to do so! It's a matter of morals and beliefs. Science could benefit greatly from these experiments. We could even stop the spread of life threatening diseases, but if we don't see it as fare for someone to take our lives, then what in the world should give us the right to take the life of another.
