                           Management issue paper

For me, there is a typical management issue that I encountered which is about a challenging roommate situation. This issue is related to chapter 7, managing conflict, in our textbook.

When I was a freshman in the first semester, I met my roommate in my room. The guy was friendly and interesting. We introduced each other and chat together. We are gradually familiar with each other. I know he love my favorite singer. We always played basketball and had meals together. He is my first friend in this college.

However, we have a conflict in bedtime. He got used to sleep late, such as 3am. He just made a girlfriend at that time. So, they talked in the whole day even at night until 3am. Unfortunately, I have a class at 8 am. Obviously, I have to sleep early in order to get up early. It is impossible for me to sleep when my roommate is talking. The conflict is hard to solve because my roommate really wants to talk with his girlfriend. I talked to him several times to solve this problem but we cannot cope with this situation. We had a good time in the day but a terrible time at night. I tried to put ear plug in my ears so that I cannot hear his talking. Unfortunately, I cannot take it out in the next day. Then I went to hospital and got help from doctors. It is clear that the ear plug cannot solve this problem. Finally, I moved to another room in the second semester. In my opinion, maybe I can learn some management skills in our text book to deal with challenging situations. Chapter 7 teaches a lot about interpersonal relationship and conflicts.
