Leviticus is the third book of the Hebrew Bible, also the third book in the Torah. The main points of the book are concerned with Levitical, or priestly worship.

In the first section of the book there is a series of laws regarding sacrifices, burnt-offerings, meat, thank, sin and trespass-offerings, followed by the law of the priestly duties in connection with the offering of sacrifices.

The Holiness Code of Leviticus was written mostly as a ritual manual for Israel's priests. Christians today are not bound by the rules and rituals described in Leviticus. Leviticus followers are forbid to do the following : have Sexual intercourse during a women's menstrual cycle , get Tattoos ,Wear certain types of jewelry , Eat rare meat ,Wear clothing made from blended textiles, Cross-breeding livestock ,Eat or touch the dead flesh of pigs, rabbits, & some forms of seafood , and Men are not allowed to cut their hair or shave their beards.

While trying to find information about Leviticus, homosexuality kept popping up on every site. You shall not lie with a man as one lies with a women; this is an abomination., from Leviticus 18.... And , If a man also lies with mankind as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they should surely be put to death. From ..Leviticus 20. In today's

society, even though there are many groups going against homosexuality, I highly doubt that any of those groups would resort to killing. This is just one example of how out-dated these guidelines really are. If Christians today insist on living by these two passages to criticize homosexuality, then it would be assumed that they are also required to follow the other rules and rituals in Leviticus.
