Lent is the wonderful, forty-day liturgical season of fasting and prayer before the celebration of Easter. During this Lenten season, I want to substantially improve myself personally, the way I respond with other individuals, and bring righteousness to my life. My aspirations are to pray more and offer thanks to God, because He is the eternal authority that grants me with what I yearn for, and He is one who has always brought cheerfulness and principal success to my family. I want to sacrifice and donate a prodigious fraction of my allowance to charity because the poor and deprived individuals need the money more than I do for crucial belongings such as food, shelter, and clothing. During this miraculous season, I also want to fast and abstain myself from food on certain days to encounter the difficult feelings that poor people face when they usually have no food. This performance will initially assess my willpower and ability to face harsh circumstances in life, such as starvation. My last Lenten resolution would to be more reverential to my parents and elder siblings and try to assist with the household chores, such as cleaning the dishes and taking the garbage out without being asked to.

The concept of sacrifice and fulfilling resolutions during the beautiful season of Lent is very uncomplicated: To test an individual’s willpower and ability to withstand something and encounter how some people feel without certain necessities. Lent is an occasion where individuals, as Christians, must try to face the difficulties and sacrifices of Jesus before he died on the Cross on Good Friday. Jesus surrendered his life for all Christians to offer us life and to liberate us from original sin; Christians, then, ought to complete something in return during the forty days of prayer, almsgiving, penance, and abstinence. If we sacrifice and offer ourselves to God and others, then our relationship with God will become securer and stronger from before.
