Instills and Engaging Culture

The picture that people have of Southwest Airlines is that of fun. But the CEO Gary Kelly states that fun is a sunny thing. Fun does always begin by throwing parties, it is based on the celebration the effort that has been applied to achieve something. The fun arises from a success in engaging with fellow staff in a company that appreciates you.

Learning that is meaningful is enjoyable. Like the people chosen for an intense Manager Training program in Southwest Camp Culture. There is extensive focus on teamwork and connecting with the company's results.

However, the CEO Gary Kelly is rigid and focused on results. This makes operation in the company to strive to acquire success even in difficult cases like financial crunch. Employees are hence victims of success; they dedicate their time and energy to achieve a goal that may not be easily met. Staff hence suffer in the disguise of pleasing the leadership of Southwest Airlines.

Building strong leaders that care about their staff is a virtue that has been instilled in the CEO of Southwest Gary Kelly. The leaders is focused on keeping and motivating the staff, and this is done by progressive advancement of its leaders. This is done by constant staff experience and movement. The CEO has brought a practice where there exists no career ladder, but a lattice ladder; employees can move right or left, up or down.

This has the effect of affecting the balance of growth in the company by overlooking competent employees and moving others to areas they have no skill. The CEO's culture may back fire in professional employees that can only work in one operation.

Part of the CEO's attribute is to reinvent its University for People. He sees leadership development in a different way. Like the recent records state that the learning hours have improved its client satisfaction and limited costs. He runs the business like a business by showing a strong value to the company and sustain a great internal brand. The program sets goals for its young leaders. It aims to generally invest in its people.

However, this process comes at a cost as the CEO has less role to play and takes strict measures to those employees
