There is no doubt that President Bush could have done more to help Katrina

victims. I believe that President Bush did not move fast enough to help Katrina victims.

In fact he sent food and rescue teams weeks after the hurricane had hit. Also, President

Bush did not make sure everyone was aware of the hurricane and its danger. And now a

year later it still looks the same.

First, President bush did not move fast enough to help Katrina victims. Since

President Bush sent help weeks after the hurricane, many people had already died by the

time they got there. If President Bush would have sent food, water and rescue teams the

day after the hurricane he would have saved hundreds of lives. For this reason many

people died, or killed themselves thinking no one was going to send help.

Second, President Bush did not make sure everyone was aware of the hurricane

and its danger. Many people thought they could just ride it out like hurricane Betsy.

Consequently many people stayed behind, but President Bush should have made it clear

that hurricane Katrina was going to be stronger and deadlier then Betsy. Also many

people did not even know there was even going to be a hurricane, because they did not

have radios or televisions. For this reason President Bush should have made sure

everyone knew even the poor and homeless.

Last, President Bush is still not doing anything to clean up all the damage. Its

been a year since the hurricane and for the most part everything still looks the same. Due

to this people are returning home and finding dead bodies in their homes. As apposed to
