The models preen at the camera with their heavily lined eyes, pouting supremely with their pale, pale lips. With their flapper dresses and vintage pearls, they are rockin' it glam as the mod creations of senior Amelia Trask.

Snap.

You couldn't call her models gorgeous, but you'd think that their look is attractive beyond words, from the way Trask positions them into a composition of pure art. There is a certain energy and sharp charm radiating from every girl, from the first polaroid shots to the final prints, one that Trask likes to describe as "the waifish Kate Moss look".

Trask started photography last year, taking Photography I to fulfill the art credit. However, she found solace in it, and it quickly turned into a "serious hobby". Currently enrolled in Art 444 under the concentration of fashion photography, Trask is exploring her field in greater depth. Pulling inspiration from Marc Jacobs and Nylon Magazine and many contemporary fashion photographers, she goes for the "mod-60's look", with a draining white background and straight on flash.

Casting the right models for such a look is very important. But the main problem she has with finding models is actually getting people to be involved in her projects, because quality photo shoots are so very time consuming, what with the make-up (over-emphasized eyes and almost-white lips) and hair that has to be done before shooting. And of course, picking the perfect outfit (how could we forget that?). That is why just about everyone in her photos are girls, because "the guys are all in sports", although Trask says that she would love to experiment shooting with guys.

She may seem all fash right now, especially since all of the clothes used in the shoot are hers, but she laughs as she says that if you had seen her three years ago, she would have been unrecognizable. "In ninth grade, I used to dress boho, since that was all in, you know. But then I started to see grannies in peasant skirts, which was frankly, mortifying. So in tenth grade, I stopped."

These days, she dresses "mod", appealing to "retro throw back things from the 50's and 60's". Her favorite shops are Marc Jacobs, American Apparels, and of course,
