Editorial Guidelines for Submission and the Review Procedures

Tourism Management:

Tourism Management aims to publish articles that are directly relevant to its readers and of interest to both academics and practitioners, with a minimum of technical jargon. Subjects covered should be treated in such a way as to appeal to as wide a range as possible, and those reporting research should attempt to draw management implications from their results. The use of examples is encouraged.

It is a condition of publication that manuscripts submitted to this Journal have not been published and will not be simultaneously submitted or published elsewhere. Translated material, which has not been published in English, will be considered.

Submissions- Main articles

Four copies (the original and three copies) of research papers, case studies, current issues and discussion pieces should be submitted to the Editor, Chris Ryan. Generally main articles should not exceed 5,000 words. In those cases where research is based on results derived from a questionnaire, four copies of the questionnaire should also be enclosed for the three referees and the editor.

Submissions- Shorter items

Reports (800-2000 words), book reviews and news pieces (800-1000 words) should be submitted to the Associate Editor, Stephen Page.

Books for review and notices of forthcoming meetings for listing in the Calendar section should also be sent to Stephen Page. Entries must be received at least four months before date of event.

Journal of Travel Research:

The mission of the Journal of Travel Research is to be the premier, peer-reviewed research journal in travel behavior, management, and development. Specific goals are to be international in scope with geographic diversity, to be multidisciplinary with diversity in research topics and methodologies, and to be germane to the travel industry in the majority of its articles. Relevant research manuscripts are welcome and should be submitted as e-mail attachments to Richard. Perdue@Colorado.edu, provided the attached files is in IBM MSWord or WordPerfect format. Alternatively, submit (4) copies of the manuscript, typewritten double spaced to Richard R. Perdue, Editor, Journal of Travel Research, Leeds School of Business, University of Colorado, Boulder, CO.
