Katherine Paterson's "Jacob Have I Loved" there is a strong feeling of jelousy between Sara Louise and her twin sisiter Caroline. Caroline always has the attention while Sara Louise feels left out. Louise's jeolusy soon turns into hate and all she wants is to get away from her sister. She decides to save money so she can go to a boarding school, so she works with her friend Call catching crabs. When her chance finally comes of leaving Rass Island, her parents decided that is Caroline the one who should go to New York to continue her singing lessons. Call also leaves the isalnd and goes to a military school, and later falls in love with Caroline and decides to get marry with her. Sara Louise decides to break free from the island and find a place where she belongs and also finds the man of her life.

Sometimes I feel the jealousy Sara Louise felt for her sister towards my own brothers in a distinct way but at the same time similar. Growing up being the only girl I don't get to do some of the things my brothers can. I do most of the cleaning in the house and my brothers don't do anything but sit and watch TV. One of my brothers, my parents always let him go out and they always give him money, if he dislikes the food my mom makes he doesn't have to eat it, but I have to eat it even if I don't like it.

Olympia mother of Alexander the great, afraid of her son not getting the throne, she send her ex-husband to be killed. Philip had married another woman from Macedonian named Cleopatra and she had a son. Olympia being a jealous person didn't want Alexander sharing the throne. This relates to the novel on how jealousy sometimes turns into hate and affects people sometimes in a positive way or in a negative way such as Olympia's case.

In the bible there is a story about Joseph, he was the eleven son of Jacob and Rachel. He's father gave him an elegant coat. Joseph had dreams of the sun, stars ,and the moon, which meant that he's family had to bow to him. He's eleven brothers became jealous and sold him to Egypt as a slave
