Introduction

Has anyone ever tried to surf the internet but was not able to because of annoying pop ups. Has anyone ever tried to install something but was not able to because of the detailed instructions that seem to be written in another language. Has anyone ever tried to finish there speech outline for Wednesday night class but was not able to print? Well do worry, because now there is the Geek Squad. What I am going to inform you about is what Geek Squad is, who and where the idea came from and what has Geek Squad become.

I. Geek Squad is a 24 hour computer support task force that is completely focused on the repair of computers and networking.

A. Geek Squad will be able to come to work for you on any system that you may be having problems with.

1. Geek Squad will be able to take your calls from an 800 number anytime of the day or night.

2. Geek Squad can also be dispatched from any one of the Best Buy locations.

B. Geek Squad has a number of different positions that have been created.

1. CIA Agent are the agents that have been assigned to be placed at the Best Buy locations

2. Double Agents are the agents who get dispatched to travel to business and homes.

3. Special Agents work with big business more then 100 computers belonging to a series of networks.

II. Geek Squad started from a single man who realized the need for computer support.

A. The man who created Geek Squad.

1. Robert Stephens created Geek Squad from the seat of his bike in 1994

2. Robert began selling his services to small business and to students on the University of Minneapolis campus where he attended.

B. The alliance that has made Geek Squad what it is today.

1. In 2002 Robert joined forces with Best Buy making Geek Squad the largest on-site computer repair company.
