We Filipinos have a very unique type of culture. We have deep-rooted values that can be seen in the way we live our lives. These values have been passed on to different generations that are still practiced throughout the archipelago.

We Filipinos value our family. We have what we call "close family ties" that is very evident until today which shows how much we value our family. This close family ties thing can also be seen in our very own entertainment be it in movies, television shows, or even in our music. Families are our moulding entities that have greatly influenced maybe the way we behave and the way we see things. It just goes to say that we Filipinos are very family-oriented people. One very good example of this are the OFW's that work hard abroad to earn money for their family staying in the Philippines. This means that although they are miles away, they still think of their families, they are driven, inspired and motivated to finish their work and support what they have left in their birth country. We value our family, that's what makes us unique. That's what makes us Filipinos.

We Filipinos are very religious. The Christians, the Catholics, the Islams, and other religious groups of this country can prove that Filipinos are deeply rooted in faith. Yes we have different beliefs, but despite of having these differences, we still make it a goal to make friends with everyone. There are no boundaries to which the Filipinos can make a great example of brotherhood, even heroism. We Filipinos believe so much in God, that we help among ourselves because we are the children of God. We have a fear for God, that's what makes us unique. That's what makes us Filipinos.

These two values that I gave are just the firsts of the many values we have that can be seen throughout our history. There's so much more than what has to be read in this article. We are Filipinos, and we are unique. I am a Filipino, a proud citizen of the Philippines.
